Slightly Delayed Rejection
Got this email today:
Dear Mr. Gary Radke,Ok, where to start. Um, I already have a job. Have for nearly 4 months now. Yea, I applied to your opening back in August, 2005.
Thank you for your interest in the Marketing Specialist position available here at ASQ.
Responses were received from many talented individuals. However, at this point we are moving forward with a candidate whose qualifications more closely met our requirements.
Again, our thanks for considering American Society for Quality; best wishes for a successful career search.
Just how many responses did they get that it has taken them nearly five months to respond to me? I guess they are still a step ahead of the seventy percent or so of employers who never sent me a rejection of any kind.
And am I the only one that finds it funny that the American Society for Quality is so ridiculously far behind in their job communications? I guess they just want to make sure they get everything right, huh?
It kind of reminds me of the last time I was jobsearching and the opposite happened. I was rejected in a timely manner for a position at Quad/Graphics... TWICE. That was a bit of a blow to the self esteem.
